In the early 1990s, Dr. Kichul Cha, the founder and CEO, identified significant limitations and inaccuracies in existing BIA devices, which were often unreliable for patients who required detailed body composition analysis. Leveraging his expertise in mechanical engineering, he embarked on designing a better solution. By 1996, he established InBody, and within two years, the inaugural InBody device was launched.
Today, InBody has evolved from a modest biotech startup in South Korea into a global enterprise with branches and distributors across over 80 countries.
